Why scan at all?

Six reasons why scanning means a good ROI.

Heavy reliance on paper documents wastes time. Every time someone has to look for a paper file, or even skim a paper file to find something, there are minutes wasted. Minutes add up over time. Saving even twenty minutes per day means saving around 83 hours per year, which means at least several thousand dollars in wasted wages -- per person!

When you scan, all of your files become searchable, so you can find anything in seconds, even if you later go and pull that file because you prefer to read from paper.

Why not scan on your own?

Sometimes people may agree that scanning/going paperless is worth doing but say they can just do it on their own and save money.

This can usually work either if you have very little paper to scan or so much that you need to set up an ongoing scanning operation. Scanning minimal amounts of paper can be done on any scanner. If you have a large enough company you may also want to have your own in house reprographics department with its own equipment and trained staff. In most other cases, our clients don't have the hardware, software, human resources, time, space and know-how to complete a scanning project for less than we would charge them, so that is the value we provide.

As a word of caution, knowledge and experience make a difference even in something as seemingly straightforward as document scanning. Years ago, it took us two or three times longer to complete our projects than it does now, so specialization definitely makes a difference. Don't try to build a scanning operation just for one project. Hire us to do what we know best.
